The Rules
- Compete in any number of lifts between Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and Overhead Press
- Each competitor must attempt each 90lb interval: 135, 225, 315, 405, 495, 585+. Intermediate intervals (chart provided), may be requested. Novice jumps are provided for certain platforms.
- Each competitor may request a final weight of their choosing. This final weight constitutes the athlete’s final attempt regardless of outcome.
- A competitor is eliminated for failing any attempt.
- A single judge will be present to assure each lift meets the standards of competition. A lift failed for technical reasons can be reattempted only before re-racking the bar following the first attempt.
- The last remaining male and female competitor is the King of the Hill.
- In case of a tie the lighter lifter is declared the winner.
- The lift of the night will receive the ultimate prize! Nominate your favorite lifts.
- Singlets are not required for the event.

The Progression
- No advanced signups. Simply signup the day of the competition for any number of the lifts.
- Lifting begins at 2:30pm so please arrive around 2pm to get signed up and become familiar with the equipment.
- The lifts will progress from squat to bench press, deadlift, and finally overhead press.
- Before Deadlifts we will perform a whiskey toast for those over 21 years of age.
- At the conclusion of the competition we meet for food, drink, and celebration at a local restaurant.
FAQ
- Am I strong enough to compete? The King of the Hill is designed to accommodate all skill and strength levels. We want everyone to have fun!
- Do I need to select attempts? It helps to have a rough idea of what you want your top weight to be but bar will start light and just keep going up. Stay in as long as you can.
- Is this sanctioned? Nope, this is purely for fun and that is how we like it!
- Are there prizes? Yes absolutely. We provide fun(ko) trophies to the winner in addition to bragging rights.
- Do I have to do all the lifts? No you do not. You can compete in any of the lifts you wish and sit out and cheer for any of the lifts that you do not want.
